Satellite multi channel television is a nascent emerging technology that is just lately beginning to be seized upon by the business world. Joe Corazzi has been at the forefront of this technology since its inception.
The technology behind satellite television incorporates communications satellites to deliver television signals, as compared to conventional terrestrial television and cable television that rely on hard wiring fiber and cables, respectively. Upon graduation from the University of New Mexico, his bachelor’s degree in University Studies/Economics in hand, Joe Corazzi began building a network of associates that shared his passion for technology and communication. In just a short while Mr. Corazzi found himself the head of a communications company that would in turn become one of the first suppliers of hotel and motel satellite communications and video entertainment. Using master antenna TV systems and satellite earth station technology, Mr. Corazzi pioneered the first installation of 24-hour satellite television entertainment for hotel customers.
It was only a matter of time before other prominent business-minded individuals noticed such acumen coupled with unprecedented technical skill. Sure enough, in the early 1980s Mr. Corazzi contacted a group of people that were also laying out the groundwork to promoter Country Music for what would become Country Music Television (CMT), then known as “CMTV”. With his technical and financial guidance the network officially launched on March 5th, 1983. Today the network is one of the most popular in the United States.
